The highlight of this launch is a brand-new limited edition color called Leaping Shadow Red, which will be available nationwide from August 25. Despite the fresh upgrades, the starting price remains unchanged at RMB 229,800, making it a strong choice in its segment.

The new version focuses first on design. The Leaping Shadow Red shade is created using a high-end 3C2B luxury paint process that goes through 95 steps to achieve a bold and striking finish. For those who want a sportier style, an optional Obsidian Sport Package includes 20-inch wheels, red brake calipers, and smoked black accents. Inside, the cabin comes alive with a Red Tea Orange interior theme, unique decorative touches, and an upgraded passenger seat that reclines with a 70-degree electric leg rest for added comfort.
Technology is another major highlight. The M5 Ultra now comes standard with Huawei’s ADS 3.3 intelligent driving system, which uses 192-line LiDAR and advanced 4D radar. Unlike many systems that rely heavily on HD maps, this setup enables smart driving across the country. Parking has also been made easier with a new assistant that helps navigate tight spaces and even mechanical garages, boosting parking success rates to 98%.
Performance has been fine-tuned as well. The car features a four-ball, double-wishbone all-aluminum chassis for better handling, and Huawei’s dynamic torque regulation improves cornering performance. A comfort braking feature softens deceleration, reducing passenger discomfort and motion sickness. The M5 Ultra delivers an excellent balance between sportiness and ride comfort.
When it comes to range and power, the numbers are impressive. The extended-range version with rear-wheel drive can reach up to 1,440 km on a single charge, while the pure electric model covers 602 km. The all-wheel drive variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds, showing that this SUV combines efficiency with power. Fast charging options include dual 50 W wireless charging and 100 W wired charging, ensuring convenience for users on the go.
Safety has also been enhanced in this version. Features like automatic emergency steering, lane departure warnings with vibration feedback, and improved weather detection make driving more secure. The battery system has undergone 16 rigorous safety tests, proving its durability and reliability.
